Bristol Drugs Project (BDP) has a 38-year history of supporting people with drug and alcohol use. We have recently grown and have a staff team of 100 offering a range of engagement and treatment support as well as outreach, club and festival support. Ours was one of the first needle exchanges in the UK and we have a history of groundbreaking pilots and research which pioneer new approaches to supporting and engaging people in harm reduction.

BDP is looking for committed and interested trustees to join our well-established board. You do not have to have any previous experience of being on a board and will have a full package of induction and orientation to support you in understanding the role. Our board have had some training from local experts Stand Against Racism and Inequality. As a consequence of this recent work, we are committed to improving the diversity of our board and want someone to bring their interest in our work, their skills and their diverse experience to being a trustee. As well as being strongly supported by the board and the SLT to develop your skills, we would be keen to learn from and bring your voice into our leadership and services. Your expenses will be paid and this would be an opportunity for you to gain valuable skills in:

You would need only a genuine commitment to BDP to join the friendly team and support the CEO and staff in delivering the best possible services for our service users. You would need to be able to offer your time for eight board meetings a year and, if you joined a sub-group (below), a further six to eight meetings a year and occasional additional meetings. You would also be welcome to attend staff meetings and events including our fabulous Creative Communities choir and orchestra performances.
