Dosage
Giving effective dosage information for cannabis is not possible due to high variability in the potency of cannabis products and preparations. The best advice is to start low and take it slow with every new batch you buy. Take a test dose with every new product you buy so you know what to expect.
The effects of cannabis will take around 2 minutes to kick in if smoked/vaped (and around 20-120 minutes if eaten, depending on your stomach contents) and will last 2-8 hours.
Harm Reduction Advice
- Avoid smoking cannabis if possible as this will damage your lungs. Invest in a vape or make some edibles instead.
- If you’re taking edibles remember the effects will take longer to appear; be patient and don’t be tempted to re-dose. Many a seasoned smoker has been caught out by an unexpectedly strong edible.
- Avoid consuming cannabis with tobacco. Not only will this be more damaging to your lungs but it also make cannabis more addictive as your brain will associate the two substances with one another.
- If you feel demotivated, anxious, or paranoid after smoking cannabis you should probably stop. These problems are likely to get worse if you continue to partake.
- Do not attempt to get in the car and drive. Make sure you find a safe alternative.
